from mobile-review:
Phonebook. Up to 1000 names with completely filled fields may be stored. It sums about 5000 numbers,
gsmarena has the same number(1000 contacts with 24 fields, 5 for numbers). . .

seems to be twice the ammount of the w800i (500x5 numbers)
: )

I'm sure there are plenty of people that need more than 500. Maybe I don't and maybe you don't, but that's not everyone.

do you know anyone that has more than 500 contacts whom they "need" to call on such regular basis, that they absolutely "need" to carry their contactinfo with them on their cellphone at all times ?

"Needs" like these makes me wonder how the world were able to funtion at all before the time of "cellphones with room for more than 500 contacts"

Im sorry to disagree with you, but Im not a technologyslave (even though technology is my livelyhood) and to be honest I find many of the "technology needs" of modern times slightly silly.

Do you know the ferrytale of the "emperors clothes" ?

This allways comes to my mind, whenever I meet all those VIP's that cant attend a one hour meating with me without bringing their laptop with atleast 3 ways of wireless connections (just to be sure), their pda, their blackberry, and atleast 2 cellphones, and each device carry the same synchronised conctactinformation. Imagine the collapse of civilisation as we know it if, they were unreachable for an hour and missed a call or an sms.............its a horrific thought.
