I was browsing my wife's S55 from the PC to delete old and obsolete files.
I deleted some JPG files from something like
\MMS\Persistent_Data
together with a few other binary files that I thought couldn't be important (whack, whack on the back from my better? half after that). Nett result is that the addressbook (phone memory) and phonebook (SIM card) are no longer accessible.
Any suggestions (for the phone that is, not for my wife or my back

Thanks for the suggestion - I did not think this was an option, I am used to embedded systems that normally reset on each power cycle. I will find the user manual and see if a reset will help.
"Miss UK"? Not likely, I have spent quite some time there so from experience I know that life consists of 1 month of autumn (Sept), 6 months of winter (Oct-Mar), 3 months of spring (Apr-Jun) and 2 months of summer (Jul+Aug), year in and year out. In the 18 weekend days of summer it will rain on 9 of them, threaten rain on 4 of them, leaving 5 days of usable summer in the whole year. You try and plan in advance to do something on these days!
There used to be a UK tourism poster years back
"When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life."
False advertising, the reality is
"When a man lives life in London, he will be tired"
I don't mean to be all negative, I have carried these pearl's of wisdom around for years now, this is the first legitimate oportunity to use them. I will sign off on an upbeat note :-
I think the UK is a great place to come from, it is just not so great to go back to.
Hope that makes you
Paul
