Folks,

this a question ive asked a few times but never had a reply!

I'm told the esato stands for only take a sony ericsson, if thats true why is the site not called eato? after all sony ericsson werent together when esato started?

so is someone telling me porkies or did Laffen foresee the future?

When did ESATO start then Reg? The official date that SE started business was 1st October 2001, but it was known about before then. This message was posted from a S700

there was a debate on whether it is actually

"only take a sony ericsson"

or

"only trust a sony ericsson"

but what @fatreg is getting at is... this site was around before the mergeing of Sony and Ericsson... so why is it... "only trust a SONY ericsson" (or take, or whichever).

ive wondered that @fatreg. i see this thread getting locked with a link to another thread though but yoiur right, that question has not been awnsered. why Sony Ericsson if it wasonly Ericsson at the time?

Laffen decided that name as it's easy to remember, short and everyone can pronounce it but it had no meanings at the start (not even intended too).

Years ago, some members tried to find something coherant behind it and from all the ideas this came out: esato = Only Take A Sony Ericsson (take the first letter of each word and read it backwards), Laffen approved the idea.

So (un-?)officialy esato = only take a sony ericsson

P.S: Sorry I can't find that particular thread where we discussed about the name.
