Probably a very obvious question to some but the WIFI on the p990i is 802.11b. Is this compatible with a home wireless network using 802.11g?

Yeah, but that's for the S60 and not P990 ! Althou the P990 uses symbian it has a different user interface.(UIQ) Also the P990 won't be out for moths to come, so there is no reason for Skype to invest money now. The wifi-g can be programmed to accept 'b' devices but - the whole network will be slowed down if configured that way. I know because I had to upgrade my 2 pc's to 'chat' to my wireless internet and among them self in 'g' mode. Shortly afterwards I had to buy a extra 'g' card for my laptop too, otherwise the network was slowing every time the slow laptop got onto it. Actually a turbo 'g' is getting standardized as we speak ! But because my new cell (intend on buying a N80) only supports the 'g' standard, I've decided not to upgrade once again (for now). I really can't understand why SE still uses the outdated 'b' standard for its 'flag ship' model :-( . Greetings from South Africa. Mario :-)
