QUESTION 1: On the average, how long do you keep on using a mobile phone before replacing it with a new one?

I'm deciding on whether to buy a new phone or not. I'm currently using a T39m.

6 months. I usually sell my old handset and upgrade to a newer one. Mind you, the T39m is a very good phone... unless you're looking at the T68i (for the size and color screen) I suggest you stick it out til the end of the year when all the new handset models should be out on the market.

I previously owned an R520m (the bigger brother of the T39) and I only sold it cuz I got a good deal on a T68m.

I've never had a handset longer than 6 months..unless you count my R310s which is my 'back-up'/beach phone. None of my handsets ever failed me... I just decided to sell them while they were still in excellent shape, complete with box and everything in it.

The R520/T39 generation is still a decent handset to have... they still have features that CURRENT Nokia's can't even touch. (Battery life for one...hehehehe) So I'd suggest waiting.

I'm waiting for the P800... or if that rumored P900 is announced, I'll wait for that... or... sell my T68, and downgrade to a T300 for now.

As long as the phone works, and I'm satisfied on the usability of it, I don't think of replacing it. Even if new phones have added features not present in my current one, i won't care. The only reason I changed from the Ericsson GA628 to an Ericsson t28 to the T68i is because my previous phones got damaged beyond repair.

changed 18 handsets from June 2001 to March 2002,so i guess each last about 2 weeks
but i had been using my T68i from March 2002 till now,so i guess the longest record is my T68i which i use for about 7 months
Cant find a decent phone which suites me b4 i got my hands on the T68i, really a headache finding a nice phone which suites every of your needs
