has anyone noticed that the k790 has disappered from here...

so does this mean that the k790 will not be released in the uk?

It is kinda pointless for the UK...but it would be cool if
can make a dual-mode phone that's capable of both EDGE and UMTS especially for places like South Africa where the two major networks have these technologies complimenting one another.
The shift will probably come with the successor to the K800.

i have no need for either 3g or edge, so because the k790 didn't have 3g but edge instead, it was bound to be cheaper, meaning i would have prefered to buy the 790 over the 800. also because i am an electronics and gadgets clean and protection freak, it just means more maintaining and worrying about the front unprotected lense.

I've got too many things to worry about keeping gadgets clean aint one of them. You can always head on over to eBay and buy the K790...it shouldn't be too much of a hassle.

i read sometime back that K790 and K800 would be priced the same if both are released in a counrty.but in most markets,only 1 of them would be released.

K800 will make more money for the mobile operators being 3G and they are the ones who will order these phones.The manufacturer will make more money selling the K800.What you want is not their problem.
