> Do you own a modern cellphone?
Bookmark topic
I was having a chat with my boss yesterday, in which he told me he was contemplating upgrading his cellphone to something current.
According to him, there are services now that offer broadband Internet access over a cellphone. Is this true?
As far as I know, cellphones can only access websites that offer WAP coding.

Your boss is right; 3G, third generation GSM network, is considered as broadband. There is phones with built in LAN recievers as well.

Wow, that is wild. As time goes on, there won't be a need for websites to have a WAP version of their sites anymore.

in fact, that is somewhat the reality, because phones now come with web viewers such as NetFront, or use an aplication like Opera mini. Another broadband feature in cellphones is EDGE, but 3G is faster. by the way, such phones as P990 come with wi-fi support. cheers
