> HBH-610a vs K750 / W800
Bookmark topic
HBH-610a finally arrived here in Estonia and since I'm looking for a new BT HF (should be relatively small and discreet) to replace my good old HBH-600.
I really like the looks and feel of the 610a, but...
Many have claimed HBH-610 to have problems with K750.
So here's my question:
Could the (hopefully) improved HBH-610a and the latest version of K750 firmware do the trick? That is... work together normally.

My guess is that it's not a perfect match. The a in 610a stands for autopairing, and I don't believe K750 or W800 supports autopairing.
So maybe it would save you a few Euros to buy the 610, which would be the same thing on those phones?
If you have w550 or w810, they support autopairing and so might be worth the 610a...

I would be getting the 610a version over the regular 610 just because the 610a looks so much better and in hope that some issues, that the original 610 used to have with K750, have been fixed.
I'm aware that K750 doesn't have autopairing but perhaps my next SE phone will.

the 610 and the 610a looked exactly the same. just different covers. i got both and they all comes with 3 covers. 2 silver ones (1 plain 1 with pin stripes) and a black pinstripes.
As for the sound quality, i find the 610a is a bit better. no cracking noise at max volume. Also, the 610a have redial features, which i believe is the first one from SE.

With what phones have you tried the 610a?
I'm desperate to find out how it works with the K750 when the phone has the latest firmware.

I do not know how it works with a K750i but I'm interested to know.
My K700 was covered with wet sand and now it is broken.
I made an inquiry with Sonyericsson UK (I tried Belgium before but i did not get an answer) and this is what whey say
Quote:Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Call Centre.
With regards to your enquiry, yes the Sony Ericsson K750i also support the auto
pairing function.
Note: Auto pairing is the new Bluetooth service. When the handset and headset
are in close proximity and the Bluetooth function is turned on, the Auto pairing
equipped Bluetooth headset automatically searches and finds the user’s
Bluetooth enabled Sony Ericsson handset. The user only has to confirm the
connection for the device pairing to be initiated and doesn't have to use a PIN
code to authorize the connection.

I made this inquiry because I couldn't find anything in the manual about auto-pairing.
So at least I know it should work, and now somebody else to comment on how it works.
Regards

deboopi,
Thanks for the info. The K750 didn't have the autopairing function at first, so I think it's reason enough to believe that some serious work has been done with K750 BT.
I have also noticed that with the latest FW the connection with my HBH-600 has improved a lot.

I bought the HBH-610a, it works ok with my K750.
No Autopairing though. At least my K750, with the latest FW didn't act as it should have, if it could autopair.

No autopairing, maybe contact support because they told me the k750i supports it (see my previous reply).
What about the speed, the combination K700i and hbh-600 works but there's always a timeout when receiving a call, up to now this is not solved.
Is this any better with the combination k750i / hbh-610a?
My k700 is repaired but I still have the bluetooth problem I had before, ending a call may cause disconnection .
I also encounter frequent disconnects (between hbh600 and k700) (without a clear reason) but I haven't found any answers to this.
Did you have such behaviour with k750 / hbh-600 ?

A slight wait is still there - between the phone starting to ring and the HF starting to ring.
K750 and HBH-600 where OK together, no suspicious disconnections.
I could try my K700 with my HBH-600 to see if I have the same problem, when I get home.
