HI!
I wanted to know; I own a W800 and the SIM Lock group in the service menu of the phone is set to 5 for every sub-item...
What does that mean? That it's not branded (i.e., I could use any SIM and it'd work)? Which is better; lower or higher numbers?
Thanks; used the search fuction but all it came was the SIM PASSWORD lock

When lock is closed it means your phone is locked to network or sim, etc. When it's opened it means you can use phone with any sim or network. To unlock locked phone you must enter exact code and numbers represent how many tries left you have.

Exactly - yearly models of the T68 on AT&T had this set to 1 or 2, which means that if you screwed up mistyping the unlock code, you couldn't unlock it ever (unless you had the utilities to do it yourself

Well, yes; they are already unlocked; all of them. What "permission" each lock grants and will I be able to insert any SIM from any country to make it work? (Leaving alone quadband services...)

how it works is, there are specific codes for each type of lock, if the phone is locked, then you have 5 tries to guess the code, or enter it if you know it.
once you get to zero, you cant unlock your phone by code, you need to use a cable.
