Hey guys
Just created this 3D animation of a Canon Powershot to use as a screensaver, but somehow it doesn't run smoothly on my K750. On my PC however, it runs fine.
Can someone optimise it to run smoothly on a k750? The second animation is provided so as to compare how smoothly animations work on the fone - the 3D walkman anim runs perfectly.

Any help will definitely be appreciated. And yes, I'll be posting a Canon Powershot theme soon.

Canon Powershot:

Walkman 3D (Extracted from a theme taken from Esato)

P.S. You may use the anim to create themes of your own, but no piracy - all I want is a decent credit, ans that's all!

[EDIT] Just discovered that the img url doesnt work, so posting it on rapidshare:

it's very heard to get gif to run smothly they will NEVER be as fast as on a computer, not with the current firmware anyway, same with all the latest SE phones even my w900 with nvidia gfx can't display gif's at their full potensial

@SKIBBE, I have included the walkman animation just to drive my point - if the walkman anim can play so well and smoothly, why cant the gif which I created?

Your animation has only 15 frames. The smoother you want it, the more frames you need, especially when your phone isn't fast enough (as most are not indeed).
Here's a version optimized (difference) for animation with the GiMP, 'combine' added to layer attributes:

But still I have no idea if it makes a big difference on your phone.

Thanks Mic@NoCo, some difference was noticeable, but I'd like to play a bit faster - is it possible?
Also Is GIMP the only way? I use corel photopaint and GIF movigear.

just tried a thing displays slower on my comp can't upload it to my phone at the moment but plz give it a go, i may be faster in your phone

edit: my w900 walkman theme and none of the original anims plays smoth =(( i have had 2 phones and different f/m

edit2: tried it myself now no changes, i saw that the SE anim had nodelay between all frames so i remove the delays in your anim that was 0.05sec but no result..

but the walkman anim is not THAT smoth.. smother yes but not so smoth.

-you made the canon anim? try incrase the frames by the double.

hi,

There's never only one way to get things fixed. It's just that I use linux (Suse10) and the GiMP practically comes with it. I'm still a rookie using it for animations, but I really like it.
Animation speed and fluency also depend on the number of pixels changing per frame and the limitations of your phone's cpu. So if you want your animation to be really fast and fluent, use more frames with less pixels changing per frame.
You could also try reducing number of colours (posterize).
