I have never experienced problems updating phones with SEUS,from version 11b up to 2.6.4.9-only when times it didn't launch which meant SE mistakes..but many people here reported dead phones,half-firmaware installation, unrecognised phone, crash, and many more. Any opinion why? Any tips and tricks? Any preparations must be done? Any do and don't? I'm sure SEUS is a great product but why?

I'm with you, I have never experience an issue with SEUS or indeed the phone suite/sync software and yet many people post about problems they experience.
personally I think its down to the rubbish that people install on their PC's. For myself, I always keep my PC "clean" and don't install software just to try it. There are so many badly written apps out there

never update a phone via SEUS when updating a phone true a laptop with know power suplay added, do not update just true laptop battery added. This will make the laptop shutt off and ends with a dead phone or a phone with only english language on it..
My experience

I'm sorry but this makes no sense what so ever... Translate please?
FWIW my only problem with SEUS is that it won't give me the latest K750 firmware over a month since it has been released... I have O2 branded phone yet a number of O2 users have already updated to the latest listed firmware and I'm still left hanging with the previous one (and I know I'm not alone.)

I think he means you shouldn't try to update your phone through a laptop when the only power source is the laptop's battery, as you risk to drain the aforementioned battery mid-update and wind up with a dead phone.

it's more or less a lottery if it works or not

it's too bad that

launched it to end users so soon instead of letting servicepoints use the platform for a longer time and test it, since they experience similair problems...

this tip may not be a tip at all, but it's getting overlooked by most people. to have a better ratio of a successful SEUS update,
try following the instructions. check the needed requirements, and ensure that you meet all of them. it's funny how it could be so simple, yet most people tend to ignore those little facts and end up complaining... remember, this gadget that we're tweaking is important, and it would be more sensible if we would be more cautious when tinkering with it...

yea i guess so.. some always tend to really take small things seriously.. like when they say you need a FULL battery then it may need a FULL battery, not 95% not 98% etc etc, tho others still pull it thru. But then the consequences are seen in the end.
check all versions of all softwares involve in the update process, extend your research for updates with the related softwares.
REBOOT after every NEW installations.
Ensure that there are no other applications running in the background of your PC, disable screensavers. TAKE NOTE of the downtime of your broadband connection and not to cross path with it.
BE PATIENT! do not rush things... and ALWAYS check back for forums such as this for reference... i guess thats about it.
its the SOP for me. cheers mates!

I think what he's trying to say is, when updating with a laptop, make sure you have it plugged in, as the [laptop] battery might run out and you'l be left with a half-flashed unit.
I say
if it ain't broke, don't fix it. DVT/TMS seems the "cleaner" option if youre updating anyways; SEUS2 doesnt seem to rewrite everything on the phone, and sometimes you're left with a frankenstein phone where things break at odd points. My w550 (updated to R4CB020 via SEUS) started having

issues, phone wont take pics (would say memory full, while i still have 130mb free), the sound recorder exits right away 2 secs after starting it, etc. i reflashed via davinci to R4CB020 and everything worked fine. i think it's because of the crap that accumulates in your phone that SEUS doesnt get rid of. well, obviously people wouldnt like getting all their info erased everytime they do a firmware upgrade.
