Having sampled U350 and U360, Ericsson Mobile Platforms is now
delivering reference designs to customers.

Lantto says: "Handset manufacturers using our existing solutions will be able to reuse existing application software and will be able to quickly integrate the HSDPA-enabled platforms into phones. We expect the first commercial phones using these platforms to be launched in early 2007."[/QUOTE]

Lets hope the SE partnership takes advantage of this in upcoming handsets/UIQ3 smartphones.!

I see there are many technologies coming out this months. at the end of last year I saw some 10 MP optics if I remember correctly. but then, I know that our dear Mr. Miles Flint (head of SE) will see wich are the best thing to introduce to SE phones. Although I agree these platforms could boost mobile functionality, mostly for American market where there is EDGE. in europe, it wouldn's be too important because of 3G, me thinks. cheers

I just read today that providers in the netherlands (europe) are planning to spread the HSPDA networks faster and the whole country would have HSPDA at the end of 2006 so if SE launches 1 or more phones that support HSPDA at that time that would be great...

Something I don't understand: isn't HSDPA a new protocol for UMTS (3G)?

It should be the default gprs carrier, but wayyyy slower than HSDPA!!
