Should I buy P910 now (and use it until post-P990 version becomes available) or wait to buy P990? What would you recommend? For what reason? Some people say P990 is not ergonomic as P910. I do not have smartphones yet. I can get P910 at US$400. Thanks.

Buddy, it might be economically wiser to buy the P910i now, and use it for a while, thus allowing the price of the P990 to fall, and have most of its bugs trashed out.
I also think u should be able to get a P910 for less than $400

You could buy a used P910 - I bought one for the equivalent of around $350 and that's about 6 months ago so you should be able to find one cheaper.
However I don't know if the official price and release date of the P990 has been announced yet, so it's hard to know how much more you would need to pay for it.
It would be a pity if it was only a couple of $100's more than you paid for the P910.
I would probably wait for the P990, unless it's delayed even further - but then again I have a P910 already.
I actually plan to keep it for a while until the P990 drops in price and the worst bugs are ironed out.

before then - if you cant wait for it - i'd get something cheap thats a smartphone (theres one for £80 on ebuyer.co.uk) - can't remember what its called though :S but i wouldn't bother with p910 because p990 will be out soon

Buy a P910. It's got loads of software available and works great. The screen is bigger than the P990, the keypad is removable and there's still hardly anything out there with the flexibilty.
If they bring out a big screen version of the P990 with no keyboard and a backward compatible OS only THEN would I 'upgrade'.

I got a brand new PAYG P910i on eBay for $300 (£190).
That will last me until the P990 drops to a reasonable price. I like the 5D jogdial, and the P990 has not got it. So I got a P910i.
All of the above assumes that the P990 ever gets released in the UK. It is a waiting game at the moment, not something an impatient person like me is able to accomodate.

even though the P990 only has a 3 way jog don't forget that it has backwards & forward's buttons to replace the functions of the jogwheel, I will upgrade when it comes out so I can get rid of my buggy SPV M5000 on ebay & get a simfree P990
