> Will I get my phone back?

Well,
something has gone wrong with my phone. Haven't got a clue what exactly, but as soon as there's even a trickle of power to it it turns on and gets stuck at the opening screen. Can't even shut it down.
Went to a Market trader in leicester, and he said he could re-flash it and come back in 45 minutes. 45 minute later and I was back. Apparantly there was something deathly wrong withthe phone, he'd never seen one this bad before
He said that it was like it had a virus or something, that half of the terminal were gone inside the phone. A good 5 hours work. So he asked to keep the phone to work on it overnight ...
Now, for my question. Do you think I'll get the phone back, or do you think that it's gone for good and I'm going to be left wondering the market looking for this guy?
I'm putting it at 50:50 right now.

Sounds a bit ropey, do you see this person on the market regularly?
If so, you may be OK and he'll be trustworthy, at least to return your phone, though he might be a 'suck air through his teeth' kinda guy, tell you a horror story about everything that was wrong with the phone, what a hero he is, oh and by the way that'll be £100 please!

i wouldn't bet against it. you should've asked the guy for a claim stub. but even then you should have been wary when he asked if he could keep the phone overnight, especially in a place like that.
anyway, i hope i'm wrong. keep us posted will you?

I would never have given him the phone overnight no way!!! I would have gone to an actual shop or sent it to SE myself.
Hope you get it back though.

Heh, I got the phone back no problem. But it turns out the guy was talkng out of his arse. He said that the phone had a virus and he's never seen anything like it, he'd done a total reflash taking him over 5 hours, and it still wasn't working.
...
Went to a stall just around the corner, the guy there hooked it up to a laptop and told me the processor was fried
He then proceeded to inform me that the guy I'd handed it to the day before had come over to his stall and asked him to sort my phone out, as he didn't have the software. The guy refused, and so the first guy hadn't done a single thing to my phone
So, yeah. I no longer have a P910. Looks like the STp Symban section won't be getting updated for a while, unless someone wants to kindly donate an old phone to me

Mel's mobiles is the second one I went too, the first one was just a random mobile phone semi-shop (not the tables, an actual walled in area), which I can't remember the name of.
