I've just recieved today a Z520i, a nice little phone secondhand off Ebay. The problem with it is that the top third of the screen isn't displaying properly, looks as if every other line isn't displaying (see picture). I've had it apart and checked the connectors are undamaged and pushed in correctly, and they seem to be.

Basically, what else could be wrong with the phone? Any ideas? Anything else I can check? I suspect it might be easier for me to buy a dead Z520 and swap the PCB into that phone.

Also, as the phone was made in 2006 week 4, can it be sent off to SE for repair, despite the fact I don't have a reciept, and have opened the phone myself? I've not damaged the screw heads, though with close inspection you can see that someone (i.e. me) has unscewed them. Will they still fix it under warranty?

I'm seeing this problem ALOT. Send it to a service centre, as long as it hasn't been wet (and of course as long as they don't think its been opened), it'll get an LCD replacement.
