hi i need to lower my ping to reduce lag when playing COD2 online on my pc, how can i do this or reduce lag? thanks

Some tips that might help...
1. Close any open programs that might continuously use your internet conection like skype, steem, limewire etc.
2. Close any other programs that are unnecessary when playing a full screen game in order to free up resources and therefore improve the general performance of your PC. for example, you can close your antivirus program (you should be pretty safe while you're only playing online) but it's probably best to leave your firewall on.
3. The ping time is dependant on the speed of your internet connection, the performance of the server that you are connecting to, the speed of the server's internet connection and the proximity of the server to you. The latter three are beyond your control, so try to choose servers with the highest ping rate.

sounds really stupid but ive noticed while playing cs:s that if my graphic settings are to high it will also lag alot more even if my ping is perfect. so i always run just under what my gfx card would be able to handle so i no it will run nice and smoothly....bring on my new pc with twin 7900GTX's
