I'm trying to update a Z520i, and can't get my Sony Ericsson Update Service to work! I click on it to start it up, I get the logo and music, the 'Sony Ericsson' name and logo with the green moving bar underneath it then. It will then ask me what language I want, so I select it, and it goes back to the Sony Ericsson name with the green animated bar again. And it seems to get stuck there! I've got it on now, it must be doing something as whilst I'm typing this it's doing it slowly as if the PC is doing something, but there's nothing happening except this damned animation!
When I try shutting it down by pressing the 'X' close button at the top right, it doesn't seem to respond, and I have to do it via the task manager.
This has happened with other phones too, and it's a bit frustrating as I want to update the firmware on a couple of phones! I've tried deleting and reinstalling it, I've had the latest update for it, what am I doing wrong?

What happpens if you go and make a cup of tea? My SEUS once updated itself and it took a while. I wasn't sure what it was doing until near the end of the process.

I did leave it for a while, it must have been doing something as it was slowing my PC down.
I've got to go and post something, so I'll start it up again and leave it for an hour or so and see what happens

Good idea...
Once, when I used it, it had to download a trillion extra drivers (well, that's what it seemed like).

Still not done anything, but will leave it for a while longer.
I'm trying not plugging the phone in until it asks, I had the phone connected before, see if that makes any difference.
I have version 2.6.4.9 if that makes any difference.

Just tried it for an hour and a quarter, still didn't do anything, tried pluggin a phone in and still nothing (had it plugged in for about 30 mins).
Any ideas? Should I try another uninstall and reinstall?
