hi all,

bought my laptop a couple months ago from dell. Just this problem has started this morning, the laptop will not turn on without the power cable. If i take the power cable out while it is on, the laptop will just go off, no shut down or anything just straight off.

any ideas :s ? i think ive got a 90 day warranty

Is the battery a bit loose (or the contact pins)?

when you plug the cable in with the battery in, do you have an LED light (that indicated the battery's status) on? Is it the charging color or charged color?
If it's not on, it means there's probably a battery fault or connector fault as abs pointed out. If it IS on, then it means the battery is drained.

It's recommended that you discharge the battery completely once a month.

great to see it's been solved
@anay, to discharge it's basically just emptying it.
Just use your laptop with max brightness and play a dvd till it's absolutely drained.
