I dropped my P910i yesterday onto concrete and I thought it was fine but it appears that i have damaged the vibrate function on it. I didn't work at all but now you can feel it try to work when a call comes in but stops straight away. Does anybody know what possible damage has been done? can it be repaired?

Thanks

No offense, but this is kind of like posting "I crashed my car, now the engine won't start, what could be wrong"

Most likely you have either damaged the vibrating motor, the little piece that causes the vibration has snapped off and got jammed, something else is blocking it from spinning.
It could really be any number of things.

You're best to take it to someone who had good experince repairing these phones or even back to SE themselves (though that'll be expensive!)

You could take it apart yourself but unless you've done it before I wouldn't recommend it! Very tricky little beasties.

I undertand it's not ideal but you know more than i do so I've already gained a bit of info about what may be wrong and more importantly how much it may cost to fix. thanks for the info

Probably just needs the prongs on the vibra motor prongs bending back up or the motor re-siting.

I droped (accidentaly of course) several times (to concrete, stairs, etc) and still works like a charm... just as other opinions, open it n see!
Warrant: don't blame me if you do it wrong

Well I didn't take the phone appart but I did decide to give it a few good hits with the flat of my hand on the back...... and it has worked The vibrate function is now working again so I guess something jammed and is now ok.

The P910i can heal itself!

Well I took the guess that something may be jammed and not broken... It was a slap so not a massive shock and I was careful not to try and damage the screen etc. hey it paid off.... I'm happy again
