my ps2 keeps making funny noises when its loading a game does this mean tat i need to change my laser plus is it worth changing the laser or not

Don't really know, the ps2s I had lasted a week max, hated the damn things.

If the games still load ok and they load at the normal speed then I wouldn't bother changing the laser unit. My PS2 is a bit noisey as well, I wouldn't worry about it as long as it works and it's not scratching your disks.

get a lens cleaning kit. they are pretty cheap. its spinning alot, becuase the lens isnt being able to read the disk that well. so it should fix the problem if you get a lens cleaning kit.
