what a shame
after i saw K790/800, i was not very excited cuz
i knew the video sux, i wrote about here, and some other
forums, about how stuipid to have such a great
cam, with stupid video ..
now nokia bring DVD-like , with their new N-series
what a shame that nokia make this before SE, before SONY
i really feel disapointed

Nokia dvd quality or close to? not-at-all! I dont think its really important, good video recording quality since i barely see people use it...
plus there are rumours that SE is making a handycam phone

but in an interview with some senior official at SE,they said that after cybershot,no more brand would be imported from sony for use in se as they want to build the image of se more.they ruled out introducing any PSP or handycam branded SE.

Well if that's true i quess if you want quality photo's you choose SE, and for better video choose nokia... but i'm sure SE will have better video quality in upcoming phones, but for now nokia has better video indeed

Who says its near DVD?
It records at VGA resoloution @ 30fps. I doubt very much of the bitrate is anywhere near that of DVD

remember those other too ahead of its time technology pieces, like some of Apple's earlier products? heck, the 1st gen ipod was, have apple not had the fanboy market worshipping their every new gimmick. methinks this nokia dvd phone is one of those things.

's starting to pick up pace, but nokia's just taken the whole concept of innovation (their brand of innovation, that is) over the top. theyre flooding the market with one innovation/revolution after another. i guess theyve exhausted all they can from camera phones (and music phones), all that is left to bring to the table are more megapixels, hence this concept of dvd on your mobile. which is, again, just overkill atm

look - there is NO way that a small device such as a phone, can possibly manage to create dvd quality...and vga 30fps - is that 320x240 or 640x480? - both aren't dvd quality - because dvd quality would work on huge screens.
as for se saying no more brand names from sony - erm.....there's two ways to look at that - the fact that it can go back to the good old days...with basically ericsson (///) technology - or the fact that it's bad for playstation fans - because I've def. heard that there is going to be 'playstation' phones for this years xmas...but in my opinion - and btw the contract between sony + ericsson meant that both of them couldn't make phones in 5 years - and it hasn't been renewed - so that may mean that we may see good old ericsson phones again - and most of the tech. in the phones is actually ericsson (///) and they could have just bought in the brand-names (cybershot + walkman) - or they could've gone with apple ipod! - think how many more phones they would have sold then!

if you NEED DVD quality video recordings,
buy a digicam?
i never thought the camera would sway a person from buying one phone over another
least we wont have this debate when the w950/m600 are launched
