I was so pissed the other day because I want to listen to my mp3s but the original headset has big earplugs! The other thing that bothers me also is that..... I cant charge my phone while listening to it!.... so..... here is my solution.... hehe!!

I changed the tip of my charger into a RCA type so that it could fit easily to the RCA plug on the "special headset". (I did it also to my car charger so that i could use it in my car.)

sorry i wasn't able to take pictures while doing it.. Ill try to make another converter... and I will show you guys how i did it..

No more draining of battery while listening to your mp3s!!

tip.. don't modify your original headset.. it is expensive.. just buy a fake one..

Wow! I'm impressed! It looks really cool, and it's a brilliant idea, though I'm curious as to why there isn't any similar device on sale since there are bound to be people facing a similar problem. And I must say it was very well done, the workmanship is first-class. I've got a query though, would there be a likelihood of the circuit shorting? I assume the RCA tip on your innovation is connected to the earphone jack terminals at some point? I'm not particularly technically-inclined, so I could be wrong, but I'm just a little worried that your device may damage your phone. Anyhow, it's still a really cool and functional piece of innovation.

Ok here it is...

first, open the fastport and the microphone..

Pull a useless pin from the back and transfer it on the first blank slot.

Then, check the color of the wires of your microphone. Tap those on the charging pins. Remove the microphone and the switch.

You'll be using your microphone wires as your charging wires.

This is the diagram..

cut your wires depending on your desired length.

you can use any jack/plug for the charger. I just used RCA plugs because it is very easy to attach.

Hmmmm..........great job mate, i think we are experimenting on similar lines.

BTW isn't it possible to add an extra pin and wire to the entire setup, at the same time, making an adaptor so that we can charge the phone while listening to the music at home, and can also plug in a mic to use the headset to talk on the move?

Too confusing? Maybe this diagram can help?
