Well, after four years with a P800 I've finally given it up and moved to an Orange M600 (also known as the imate jammin, htc prophet).

I've loved my P800 (got it the day it arrived in the UK) and it has given me sterling service but I've been wanting to upgrade for about a year now and couldn't find a phone that I thought was worth upgrading too.

I had been holding out for the P990 but when it was finally announced it failed on my most important requirement: size. To be honest, the only thing that I really found difficult with the P800 was the physical size of the thing. It was fine when it came out but over the past four years I'd really craved for something that was a bit more pocket friendly. The initial rumours were that the P990 was going to be smaller but it has ended up being the same as all the rest of the P series which was a big disappointment (to me).

The only other thing that didn't work 100% for me was synchronisation with Outlook. Most of the time it was fine but it did fairly regularly duplicate my tasks/appointments/notes/contacts and occasionally it did delete something too.

I guess that’s why I ended up going the MS Mobile route rather than sticking with Symbian.

I’ve now had the new phone for about a week and it is excellent. For me, personally, it fits my requirements almost perfectly. I feel almost as excited about it as I did when I first got the P800.

So, it is farewell to the P series. I can’t see myself coming back (unless they make it smaller), and it is farewell to esato. A great resource and I wish you all the best.

Maybe the SE m600i was what you would have chosen, if you had known about it...?

all the same, p800 was an incredible phone when it first came out, i'm hoping for a similar feeling when i get my SE m600i! Daz.

daz, well I think that the lack of any real information on whether the synchronisation would be better turned me off the Symbian line altogether. Size and synchronisation together were the two key things and I haven't seen anything that gave me confidence SE were addressing the synch issues I was having.

Hi all,
i have to say i don't seem to have suffered the syncing problems a lot of other people appear to have had except for it being very slow on occasions . But since downloading the developer version of Mrouter (the link can be found under the GNUBOX thread) it is faster, may be worth trying for those of you with problems.

After four years of faithful service, you are kicking the P-series to the curb. traitor. To get the size of the screen you will always have a good size phone.
