hahaha my number five key.. on it theres these two lumps and i cut them off now it looks like this...

I think that those 'bumps' were there to guide you to where the five key is by touch. Obviously if you didn't feel as though you needed them, they by all means we should all cut off our 'bumps' for a more aesthetically pleasing solution.

looks interesting, but i prefer to feel the 5 button with my fingers ( as mentioned here already ). however your solution offers an optical way instead of a phisycal touch
maybe sE should make those 2 pins of plexi, so everybody will be happy then.
