Hi guys I need some help!
I want to buy a W810i but I`m a little worried about the IN-Ear headphones in the pack.
I really don`t want to damage my hearing!
Anyone who knows more about In-Ear headphones.
I would be really happy to know more!
P.S. Sorry if my English isn`t that good. I`m only thirteen years old and I`m from Sweden! : )

Tja Vilhelm I

Obviously not - in ear earphones deliver the sound very close to the eardrums and have the silicone plug which completely blocks all the outside noise

As a user of in-ear headphones, I think they're safer. As they deliver sound straight in to the ear and block out almost all ambient sound, they can be used at much lower volume levels.

In english then...

I use only in-ear earphones thses days, I have 4 different in-ear earphones my self. I use them every day and find it hard to go back to traditional earphones like fontopia and such.

(I will refer to in-ear earphones and iee from now on)
The pro with iee is that you don't have to have high volume since the surounding noise is shut off. The plug is in your ear and therefore the sound is felt higher. The fact that the surounding noise and sounds are shut off can be bad in some occasions like out in the traffic.
Also since you don't need high volume you save battery.
With regular earphones people tend to use very high volume wich is also really bad...

It is a fact that iee are more dangerous than regular earphones.
The iee are put in the ear's auditory canal not outside. If you put the iee fast and hard in the ear you will damadge the ear since the air in the ear's auditory canal will be pressed towards the tympanic membrane or "eardrum" wich if the preasure is to muh will brake.
This is the risk with in-ear earphones.

This risk is considered very small though.
Also since you put the earphone in the auditory canal it becomes a plug that shuts out the surounding sounds you don't have a fully grip of what is going on around you and this can be harmfull in traffic.

I hope this explains stuff guys.

well it all sounds logical to me...

if others would give time to experiment for themselves the difference of the two with regards to your ears reaction...

like using regular headphones... yes you tend to level up the volume in order to beat outside noise.... and sometimes my ears really gets the beating from it... hearing outside noise at the same time hearing my headphones. to much noise.. while "in-ear" yes it tends to shut outside noise.. of which i call noise leak. and here you will try to soften the volume coz you dont have any competition from outside noise, hence youll hear all the music and no noise from the outside along side with saving some battery life. BUT since you cant hear outside noise... its not adviceable to wear in-ears while your on the move... on the streets, driving... etc etc...

ciao!
