Hi everyone,
I have searched the forum and have not had any luck getting my t68i connected to my win2k machine.

Here is what I have
Brand New T68i picked up today, freshly charged with new service.

Fujitsu Lifebook E running Win2k Pro Sp3
Office XP

Currently installed on the win2k machine R4APackage4.exe and the Ircomm patch.
Changed from SMC fast Irda to Standard Irda driver. Changed to standard Irda in bios. Changed irda speed to 56k.

I start the phones irda connection place it in front of the irda port on my laptop and usually I get nothing. Every once in a while it will link up for about 20 seconds then disconnect.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I am doing wrong? This laptop has had no problems with my nokia 8290 with nokia's connection suite?

Thanks In advance

Joe

You probably have something blocking or conflicting with the irda port. Shut down everything in the background including active sync/nokia software etc. In wireless link the irda port speed should be set to 115,200. If all that does not work try installing service pack 3.

Did this solution work?

I am interested because I am having the exact same problem on my Compaq Evo N800v, running windows 2k.

Thanks.

Have you downloaded the mpm software? This post was posted from a T68i

package 4 includes all the necessary software, including MPM.

based on your description of the problem, everything seems to be fine. try changing the speed of your IR port until you get one that might work.

like cookiemonster said, there might be other applications trying to use the IR port at the same time. check the appls/processes that are running to see if there's any.

That is your problem already, DONT set the port speed at anything other than 9,600.
Thats the fastest the T68i's IR port can transmit/receive at.
I have seen some people setting the port speed at 115,600 which is pointless, because the phone can only get data at 9600
