I’ve always loved the P series. I had a P900, which I thought was fantastic, followed by my current P910i which is even better!
However, I have just gained a new found respect for my beloved phone as it has just survived a dunking in a very hot, very large cup of tea!!
Yes, you heard correctly. I managed to spill an entire cup of freshly brewed tea straight over my phone. This was no ordinary cup…. It was huge (well, I like my tea, what can I say). At first my screen went blank so I turned it off, removed the battery, sim card and memory stick and left it to dry. About 36 hours later I put it back together and tried it out. The phone would start up but the touch screen and the flip pad did not work so I couldn’t get past the initial screen (at this point I thought I’d be collecting on insurance!). I dug out my P900 and started to use this thinking about what to do as you can’t get hold of P910’s anymore.
Then, last night I was about to pack up my P910 ready to send it off to the insurers when I thought I’d give it another go…… And lo and behold it works!!!!

I will never doubt my poor little P910 again.

The only thing that I have noticed is that the battery is draining really quickly now. A new battery is a lot better than a new phone though.

That's a NICE experience - Modus! I am doubtful though that eventually thos 'drips' will have a gradual negative effect on the fone . . . I just hope that it's really only the - battery

Beware, it may not be the battery that's at fault but something on the phone. I've had a couple of water damaged phones that have done that with different batteries, try another batt and see if it does the same with that. If so, it could be new phone time! And I'm afraid insurance often doesn't cover moisture damage

sorry to be the bringer of bad news!

If you are covered by Insurance for water damage the best thing to do is just to get it replaced as there may be other problems assosciated with the tea that you dont yet know about and it may have just generally damaged the phone, but not in a big way to stop it working.

Had you ever thought of being a little bit cheeky and telling the insurance that the phone has started loosing battery all by itself? Insurers make enough anyway and you might aswell get a brand spanking new one, otherwise whats the point in having the insurance in the first place!

Good luck to you. There are still a few places out there, that sell P910s

I might buy a new battery from e-bay (they seem pretty cheap) and give that a go. My insurance covers liquid damage so if it is a problem with the phone itself I suppose I could put in a claim.
I'm just worried that I won't be able to replace it with a P910!

If only the P990 was out. Would have been perfect timing! This message was posted from a K700i

My P900 and P910 both survived falling into a bath! Just dried them both out with a hair dryer and are both working fine.
