Hello all,
I recently bought a p910i off ebay and am quite happy with it, I also just bought a 2gb duo card as I thought it was worth starting off with a decent set up as I expect to keep the phone for a while. I have just a few questions that prehaps some of you wizzos could help me out with.
1. Is battery life an issue with p910i? I have turned my natural light brighness down to 50% but I still only get about 2 - 3 days worth of use while making a light number of phone calls, I was used to around 5-6 with my k750i
2. I have installed opera mini on my system but it doesnt seem to be able to connect properlly to the internet however the basic browser provided seems to work fine. I am in the uk on 02 and usings the settings that were messaged to me when I turned the phone on.
3. I loved T9 but found out that the p910i doesnt have that feature, I found a program called Jotter 2.0 and have browsed the forum and read up. I was wondering if anyone still had a simple word list that I am able to upload into jotter 2.0 as the orignal link for one has been taken down.
4. I am in the process of buying tomtom go for it, is there anything else that I will need to buy to get it to work efficiently, is it a massive battery drainer, should I buy a car charger and holder?
5. Could someone give me some more apps to buy, I am particularly interested in getting a good film / divx player so that I can watch films while on the train. I also would like a decent system manager so that the phone is using its power and resources efficiently. Any other apps that are generally interesting and fun and which people have found they cant live without would also be useful. I would also like to be able to watch TV if possible but was wondering on the cost, do you just pay for the ammount of kb's downloaded or is it a network provider thing?
ok thats about all for now im sure ill find more questions as I figure out the phone any replies are welcomed.
Tom

I didnt realise there was a difference. I think tom tom mobile is the one im getting, version 5.20. I have been looking around and dont understand these phrases. UIQ, and S60 i have sort of gathered that they are to do with different mobile manufacturers, eg SE is UIQ but what does that mean. If i download software for S60 will it work on UIQ.
so p910i's do have shit batteries, ok just wondered whether it was a dodgy ebay thing.

well my p910 had a shit battery as I hammer my phones, as for UIQ as you sau that's SE front end software, Nokia use series 60\80\90 and no even though they are .sis files they will not install on your p910i.
tomtom for p910i is great, I love the contact direction thingy!

My P910i lasted for 3-4 days, minimal calls (around 10 mins.) and SMS only . . .

Hi kinnth and JN,
I am a little confused why would you purchase the P series phone only to use it like a normal phone for SMS and a few calls only? The P series is Symbian UIQ based phone with PDA features and people buying this phone should naturally want to fully utilised its features in order to make full use of the amt of $$$ spent on purchasing it (well, I meant when it was first released it's the most expensive SE phone at that time). There are at least a thousand software, utilities and games for this platform and when fully utilised, you will most likely need to charge your phone daily.
Hi kinnth,
You are in luck in terms of movie on the P910i, cos SmartMovie 3.11 and above finally supports CoreMP4 codec and allows high quality movie playback on the P910i. Check it out here:

yeah that seems like a good video converter ive checked it all out, what would you say a good bitrate to encode. Im hopefully getting a 2gb card that actually works as the last one I got off ebay was corrupted, too good to be true for £30!
I want to keep bout 500mg spare for mp3 500mg - 1gb for vids and the rest 4 apps and pictures and things.
Has anyone had any luck with the jotter application word file, im in need of that quite badly.

Use the regular opera 6.xx browser instead of the mini version.
