First of all read thouroghly this thread!!!

You have to know how to flash, what is firmware, main and fs files, what is setool etc...

You need service cable or DSS-25 and setool

Find an appropriate MAIN file of you firmware. Look at www.topsony.com

1. Open MAIN file in any HEX editor and find string:
7000720065007300650074002F00730079007300740065006D002F0073006F0075006E0064000000

and change it to:
75007300650072002F0061007500640069006F002F00730079007300740065006D00000000000000

(this way we changed system folder /tpa/preset/system/sound to tpa/user/audio/system)

2. Find:
6D006900640000002E0061006D00720000006400690073006300720065006500
and change it to:
6D007000330000002E0061006D00720000006400690073006300720065006500

(we change .mid .amr discreet to .mp3 .amr discreet)

3. Save changes and flash new MAIN file to your phone
4. Turn on the phone, go to Audio folder and create folder system
5. Put all the files from this archive to Audio/system folder using any file manager (fma, myphoneexplorer etc)

6. Just to check go to Messages > Settings > SMS Sound and test any melody
7. To put your own mp3 sound, rename it to messagealert1.mp3 (or messagealertX.mp3, where X is 1 to 6). Delete previous messagealert1.mp3 from audio/system and upload new one.
