Hello...
AS topic; I tried many of them (eMSN, QuickIM, UltraIM, more that I don't remember their names...) and none of them quite convinced me...
I would like to have one that has file sending (from file system / pictures snapped), multiple chat sessions, nice GUI... (some requeriments...

)
Thanks.

I recommend mig33, great interface, tabbed chat sessions. It does not support file transfer tho but imo its the best

I read you have to register? Also, pretty 'commercial' since you can send SMS through them, discount at calls, etc... might not like it too much...

i know mig33 isnt the most complete msn around, but its the most stable one i´ve ever used, it just works. And the tabbed chat sessions r a great solution.

UltraIM pro, sadly, doesn't work when I'm composing a mess., then i can't send it, go back, NOTHING!!! It just stays in that screen, even if I select back, click the back arrow, click ok, whatever!
About MIG.... do I have to register in their site?
THanks.

All java programs suck when compared with symbian or wm5 ! Java instant messaging is one branch the programmers are and will have difficulties to properly implement a program to work on different handsets.Java is about portability and not quality ! If you want a decent program (games or utility) get yourself a 'smart phone' . Even my almost 4 year old cell has better (more custom made) software then any java only cell of today ! And keep in mind. You always can play almost any java program on your smart cell but not the other way around ! Yes you get some java programs which are sort of customize for a certain cell brand, but that is more related to different screen resolutions then anything als. The program itself is identical. If you have played on a S60 operated cellphone for a while you'll never ever bother with java again :) Greetings from South Africa. Mario.

Thats true but 4 years old smartphones and even less have bad cameras, mono sound, and low screen resolution and an up to date smartphone is much more expensive than the k or w lines top model. I prefered to get the w800 because its totally multimedia and very close to a smartphone in functionality, not the mention the best value for money. I use mig33 and it works just fine, it doesnt transfer files but i dont see much use for that on a phone.

ah mario, ignorant has usual...you seem to forget the likes of nav4all, mobyexplorer, opera mini and even Ultra IM pro (can send files from the file system, for now just photos)
the truth is that nowadays you can do almost anything in java, and with great looking and powerfull apps
