I've been using a w550i. I downloaded the latest SEUS (Sony Ercisson Update Service). I charged my cell completly. Followed the instructions. It went smooth till the window Please Do Not Touch The Phone. I didn't. The green bars were progressing. after the 4th bar, the window changed to Error. Please Unplug the cable and go back to try again. Since then my cell is dead, it won't power up, i've tried everything. However, when i take out the battery, and insert it again, and press the "C" button and run the update service again, it does detect it. But after the 4th green bar, it shows that same Error screen. I have a lot of movies and photos on it. I don't care about them, i think i had 10mbs free. But the phone is dead! I think its because i did not have enough space on the cell.

Help ME!!!! i can't remove files, since it wudn't start up. If i attach the USB cable with the "C" pressed, it shows in the USB as Sony Ericsson Flash USB something, but it doesn't come up as a drive or anything, just shows it in the Device Manager.
Please HELP ME!!

try to delete DB folder in Program Files/Sony Ericsson/Update and retry to update f/w. If unsuccessful read my previous post. SEUS don't touch directly files of mobile's f/w. Some files are corrupted in yr phone, so SEUS can't update them and writes Error.

THANK YOU!!!

Man it was killing me for 2 days... finally. I did what you told me. Deleted the DB Folder. Plugged my fone on the charger (hoping its charging, since couldn't see the progress). started the application, followed the instructions, and it did it.
thanks

Just wanted to post to let you know that this fixed the problem for me too. I had tried to flash my K800i, and after two attempts, I had a bricked phone. The SEUS got as far as actually uploading the new firmware to my phone, but it must have only got to about 10% before reporting the error message. And then my phone wouldn't start. Tried again, same thing. I was about to give up, blame it on Parallels (allows me to run Windows as a guest OS natively inside my OS X box), and go looking for an actual Windows box, when I came across this forum topic.

Sure enough, deleting the 'db' folder worked, and now my phone is working again.

Phew.

Thank you very much . I thought I was screwed.
