Hi there, just got the Sony Ericson W800i on t-mobile in the UK. After a few days of getting used to the phone i find there are pictures of robbie williams in there half naked with next to nothing on. I call T-mobile as im unable to delete these from the phone memory as it appears as "protected file". T mobile say they are running some promotional material with Robbie williams and this is why it is on the phone. They are not sure how to remove the pictures, neither are sony erickson when i give them a call. Ive tried removing them by connecting the phone to the pc but it says operation not allowed by phone when i select delete. On the phone it shows a little key next to the picture to show its locked. How can i remove these pics, i cant stand robbie williams. there was a ringtone on it as well but i managed to delete this.

hey buddy , can u just clarify where the ROBBIE pic is, i meant on the SD card or the phone memory...m sure u shud be able to delete by connecting it to the PC. nonetheless, u can always use the MASTER RESET. but MASTER RESET is always the last option as it erases whatever shit u saved on the mobile. hope this answers ur query. CAUTION : AM NOT AN EXPERT!!!

It could be that they are on the MS and flagged Read Only. Connect to a P.C., change the attributes and delete.

Look for Text Editor or Moby ftp or Moby Explorer, install it to phone then find yr file to be deleted and change its attribute and delete yr file

@Vicser,
One silly qn here though - how do I use mobyFTP (i have mobyftp, but not installed yet) to remove protection? What attributes do I have to change and where can I find them?
Also, can I use the trick to remove all those useless sounds in the "VideoDJ folder?

Hi there
Ive tried changing the attributes by using the sony ericson file manager software on the pc and wen i click properties the read only options are greyed out but they dont look to be ticked.
These pics are on the phones internal memory and show up in the in the pictures folder. The file extension for them is .dcf and not a .jpg
So not sure what to do, ive tried the usual things but not really clued up on phone software etc.

Examine TextEditor for example. Find necessary file, press options, select attributes, clear mark "read only", press OK (many times), go again to options, select delete, then OK. By analogy with TextEditor delete protected files in another file managers including file manager built-in Opera mini.

Nice One Vicser! I didn't know about this app. Now I can finally get rid of those system sounds that bug me. It will definately resolve richardc1983s problem.

Text editor worked for me!!!!
I managed to get rid of the 'Sony Ericsson', 'Greeting' and 'Bullseye' tones, and the SE screensaver.
I couldn't get to the default theme though. Probably a good thing.
