Ive been searching through numerous posts about the right settings for smart movie for the p910i.

lonelycat games forum has some settings here however I want to use the new divX codec. I have the 6.0.2 codec and it is installed on my computer and working in smart movie.

Could anyone give me the best advanced settings for p910i for the minimum file size, im looking for about 10 mins for 10 megs.

thanks

divX is outdated and sucks in quality, try using the XviD codec instead. It's the best video codec out there

well i have found both of those codecs but I want someone to tell me the advanced options for either of those codecs so that you get the 10 meg 10 min with the best video quality.

Could someone please post detailed instructions on either of these codecs so that the best results can be obtained.

Thanks.

3vix is worse quality than XviD! also XviD is free and 3ivx is not!

@ the topic starter. The higher you set the bitrate the better quality you get and it also takes more space.... if you set the bitrate to lower then you'll get a smaller file...

Each to there own I suppose. I always found 3ivx set at consistant quality at about 90% was good enough as well as relativly small.

maby 3ivx fits better for playing movies with smartmovie... but I prefer XviD on my PC, TV and iRiver PMP

well i dwld the 3ivx but it seems to crash with my 2.76 version of smart player. I encoded at 225kbs with xvid and the quality is ok however the sound comes back really werid. Its like its playing at half speed, totally unwatchable. Im not sure whether this is just on my pc or whether it happens when its put on the p910 as I dont have a pro duo card reader yet, it should arrive on monday. Has anyone else had this problem?

you probalby need to install LameMP3 codec. Then use XviD for the video compression and LameMP# for the audio

I doubt the P Series could handle the 225kbs, the sound issue was probably a result of the P struggling.

I used to go to 120 Max...

And as Garder mentioned... Get the Lame codec for the audio.
