I want to ask if there is any software that can enable an SE w800i phone to access the file system of a bluetooth linked pc. I know mobyexplorer can do it via gprs ftp but I don't have gprs on my phone (and don't want to pay for it).

What I am thinking about is this: I want to upload pictures to my pc every now and then WITHOUT sitting right in front of the pc and then initiate the transfer there. I know I can remote control the pc via bluetooth (through HID) but in that way, I still need to sit in front of the pc....

I remember in my dad's Imac G4 I could browse his file system directly, but I'm using T630 wich is one of the few that can browse files in other bluetooth devices if they support it. I could browse his files, I think, because it had bluetooth incorporated, not like my PC, that has an adaptor. when I want to send files to my PC, it creates a COM port connection wich disables the option 'Send via bluetooth' in my T630, but on the Mac it didn't do such conection, so I could just send FROM the phone, although if I remember correctly it asked for confirmation, always. cheers

It's so because previous phones to K750 allowed this; from there on this feature was removed for issues concerning security...

Cheers

If you just want to send pictures to the PC, can't you select "Send -> Via Bluetooth" on the phone? I have my Mac set to auto-accept any incoming files and place them in a special folder.

Yes, sending files from phone to pc is one of the few things I want to do if such software exists. What I want to do is to perform ftp functions (like Mobyexplorer but via bluetooth) and if possible, perform some pc functions like further uploading the files (images) for some other purposes.

What I have in my mind is:
I shoot the pictures on the phone.
I use some text editor and put some comments on the pictures.
I upload them to the pc via bluetooth.
I use a one button function (on the phone) and... blog them.
---all done on the phone (without touching or looking at the pc monitor) and via bluetooth.

Of course, this can be incorporated into a FTP client gprs accessible software. If you are away from home and have gprs access, do it via gprs, if you are at home and around a pc, do it via bluetooth (to save gprs charge. Or like me, I don't subscribe to gprs. Bluetooth is my only option).

How nice! I think I am daydreaming !

You need to buy Remote Desktop for Mobile (works over gprs from anywhere).

@Vicser
I don't want gprs, I just want bluetooth ftp (if there exists such thing). I don't want to pay for the expensive gprs per byte/minute charge.

As far as I know there are 2 apps for Bluetooth. They are BT Browser and BT Explorer. But i think they won't satisfy you.
