Hi Folks,

I have az Exchange 2003 to which I connect every day, and it needs SSL certificate. Every time when I ccheck the email, it asks me to accept the certificate. I installed it on my laptop, so it would stop asking, and I now am interested how to install the Certificate to my P910i. It is in a .cer format.

Thanks

Hi

I successfuly navigated my phone's browser to a .crt certificate, and I could view it, but when I say "install Certificate", it says "Could not complete addition". What am I missing?

Thanks

what I have heard is that these certificates are allocated default by the GPRS network service provider (i.e) our phone network operator.

I have many or all the certificates list empty, java too.

Right, that might be the case indeed, but I need to add my own certificate that I created with my WIndows 2003 Server for SSL communication. Now, every time I go to OMA to check my email, or use Roadsync to do the Direct Push, I have to "Accept" the certificate. THis was the case on my laptop too, when I wanted to use OWA, upuntil I tool the .crt or .cer file, and double clicked it, and installed my certificate. Now, it is trusted.

I also heard that Nokia phones can have 3rd party certificates installed. I am sure the P910i is capable as well, just dont know how.

Thanks

Hi

I have gotten it half-way sorted. I kept reading and reading, and I found this on SE's knowledge base:

Code:
How to install new certificates (P800/P900/P910 series)

You can install certificates in the following ways:

- Install the certificate by running a .sis file on the PC
- Attach the certificate file in an e-mail and receive it via POP3, IMAP4, or PC Synch.
- Copy the certificate file to the Memory Stick Duo.
- Use Sony Ericsson PC Suite and transfer the file to the phone.

The phone should recognize the file as a certificate and start the Certificate manager automatically. Please note that the certificate files must be in .der format.

So, I went to my Server's Certificate Authority, and I selected the Certificate that is responsible for the IIS server, and I selected Copy to File. It asked me what format it should use, so I selected .DER. It saved it and names the file with .cer extension. That, I had to change to .crt, as that is in IIS's MIME types for certificates. I copied the file to my WWW root, and browsed to the file with my phone.

http://mysite/certificate.crt

It prompted if I want to add the certificate, I said yes, waited a while, and showed me the certificate in detail, and I had to press ADD again. At this point, the certificate was added.

But now, the site will still prompt me for the certificate. I cannot believe it.

I was not able to import the ROOT certifiate, it wouldnt let me. What is the problem here?

Thanks
