I hate to have to ask a probably very old question, and one that many of you probably have seen once too often. Here's what I know: the easiest, most straight-forward solution is to use DaVinci to flash my phone to get rid of the camera sounds. That's fine with me. What I don't know is just which firmware I need to flash my phone with. I don't want to mess anything up, and the DaVinci FAQ did not really help in answering this question..

Secondly.. will it work with the regular USB cable that came with my W800? I have a European model W800 and use it in the US with T-Mobile.

Any help with explanations or even links is appreciated. Thanks!

EDIT:
I could have been more precise.. I'm just really, really sick and tired of the autofocus beep and the shutter sound when shooting with my W800. I have all sounds turned off on my actual digital camera as well. I don't see the point in having sounds go off while shooting pictures.. it only attracts attention where none is needed/wanted and serves no purpose really. I have visual feedback on autofocus with the green square on the display and really don't need the beep to tell me when autofocus has done its thing, leaving the camera ready for the shot. The shutter sound is even more useless, really, because, well, it's artificial. If there is an actual shutter that makes a shutter sound in a camera, that's fine, great even, because it's authentic and cool in its own kind of way.. but a shutter sound as a sound file in a digital device that serves no purpose other than to let the user know that a picture was just taken... well, it's pointless. I know WHY the sounds are there. Some countries have laws yaddayaddayadda... what I don't get is why these laws affect mobile phones with built-in cameras but not actual digital cameras??

Anyway.. I'd just like to know the easiest, safest way to get rid of all camera related sounds on my W800. Thanks!

If you had a fighter / cruiser cable you could update the customize.xml file to switch off the sounds (a very easy process for the cost of a cable) but im not sure about DaVinci
