I had updated from R1L002 to R1BC002 way back in march 2006 (well, maynot exactly be "way back", but still). There had been no increase in the headphones volume during MP3 playback so far, as was suggested in the frimware thread.

However, yesterday, I noticed a sudden increase in the volume level during MP3 playback. I was using a pair of Sony Fontopias and initially I thought it was due to the high volume of the earphones.

But as I later came home and tried out the HPB-60, the volume indeed had increased, by approx 1.5 bars. I also tried other songs to make sure, and had it confirmed.

Earlier, i used to listen to songs at 6 bars in an empty street and on 7.5 bars on a busy street. Now, 5 bars is sufficient for empty streets and 6.5 is more than enough for busy streets.

Any logic behind this sudden spurt?

loose fast port? ive tried wirggling my fast port a bit coz sometimes the left part doesnt go... or sometimes the other... i knew for a fact that tha fast port is beggining to give me tha pain... so what i did was whenever i plug my headphones i make sure i plug them in properly and firmly.

try it out... it makes a difference. just drive em hard with enuff pressure... tho that hard coz it will definitely spool yer pins.
