Elegant Z550 clamshell delivers quality 1.3 Megapixel camera and crisp colour screen
18 May 2006
London, UK - 18 May 2006 - Mobile phoners looking for quality, style and good looks will love Sony Ericsson’s Z550, announced today. Finished in a combination of premium brushed metal and high gloss material, the Z550 is a classy partner for work and leisure with universal appeal.
The 1.3 Megapixel camera has 4x digital zoom and takes great snap shots and video for capturing those unpredictable moments. These can be viewed on a crisp, bright colour display. With 20MB of onboard memory expandable to 1GB, it’s simple to store and share a large collection of pictures using MMS, Bluetooth™ or e-mail.
“The Z550 has an exclusive, understated feel that’s a tribute to our iconic phone the T610, and features a 1.3 megapixel camera, unusual for a phone in this sector” said Jan Wäreby, Corporate Executive Vice President, Head of Sales and Marketing, Sony Ericsson. “In all, the Z550 is a phone that breathes quality and value.”
Finding shots once you’ve stored them is child’s play with the new thumbnail gallery feature. This allows you to search your images both visually and according to the date they were taken with multiple thumbnail images being shown on the 262k sharp colour screen.
The Z550 connects easily to a PC for fast transfer of multimedia files and synchronisation with your phone book and calendar. The phone also has full HTML internet browsing and optional Bluetooth™ headset and car-handsfree kit for wireless freedom on the move.

Not bad - So, this is finally what we had been seeing as the SE123.
The thing still remains to be seen whether the aluminium bits are for real or just a bit of well-finished plastic as in the K700.

Sorry, I thinks hes messing around with us.
Why doesn't
bring out a REAL tribute
Anyhow, I can't find any pics of this phones keypad. I do like the silver and copper finish though and this, correct me if I am wrong, seems to be an entirely new model and not a variant of and existing one.
