Who else here has tried this, I did and my PC slow down badly and crashed when I restarted it, I lost everything. It was fortunate that I kept all me coursework backed up, or else I'd be really screwed.

Applied it yesterday on my Toshiba Satellite 5105-S607 with only one problem - I had to download new GeForce4 drivers. I wish you had chosen the option to save the uninstall files, you could have restored your system...

SP1 supposidly has something built in, so if you are using a leaked serial number (you have a dodgy copy) it will make the OS corrupt....

Mine is original, i think, I got the PC from PC World, XP came with it, so OS should be an original, not a pirate.
I might try it again, when service pack 2 comes out.

I can't even download SP1 for XP Pro as my 'product key is incorrect'! Afterall I did pay nothin for the CD, so I can't really complain!

You can change your product key and then install SP1

SP1 for Windows XP. If you have one of the leaked Corporate product keys then the SP will not install, your OS WON'T be corrupted either!!!
You can get a workaround on the net if you look hard enough and in the write places. There are other corporate product keys that do work with it too.
