Hey Guys,

Ok, just thought i'd step in with some info on the W950i. For those that are aware, i've just sold two M600i's, and have just been offered to purchase a W950i.... Now, this one is too expensive for me, but i thought i'd share my brief encounter....

Photo's:

The phone, is much like the M600i's I have, in that, software is much the same. The big difference obviously is the keyboard, the MASSIVE 4gb onboard memory, and the "Walkman" branding...

This phone will be released in October, a LONG way away. But if anyone is interested in it, let me know. I may be able to sort you out. Cheers. Daz.

Well... The only way i can get this is to spend ALOT of money.

So, if people want to offer then feel free, but it will have to be high.

Cheers. Daz.

Oh, one more thing, i'd just like to emphasise the size, this phone isn't big at all... As I have an M600i with me, i'll show you...

It's surprisingly small, in fact, when i first saw it, i was shocked...!

And next to my very wrecked, k608i:

As much free ram as the P910i? ermm, i forget, what does the P910i have?

I assume so, as this has 80mb shared memory...

About the screen, it's 240x320. Physical size: I don't have a ruler. lol.

Dimensions of phone are: 107 x 57 x 15 mm, So you can work it out from that...

Cheers, Daz.

Again, this is not a for sale thread, so i'm not posting a price.

Just letting people know that if they want it, I can get it. If you want to PM me an offer, i will let you know.

Cheers. Daz.

Hi all,

the W950 is till going through its Beta test program.

SE does not sell the prototype hardware used in the Beta testing and the Beta testers do not own the prototypes. In short they are not available for sale.

Furthermore, unless you are a member of the Beta test program, you do not have access to the software update site. As the W950 is not released, there will be nowhere for you to download the latest firmware and remember, its a Beta test, so plenty of bugs.

Even after the W950 is released, there is no guarentee the commerically released firmware will work on the prototype hardware (often the prototype hardware requires special software builds).

In short, it is not wise to buy prototypes.

Daz, your source should also be aware that he/she is most likely violating the confidentiality agreement just by offering the W950 for sale and could be in serious trouble for selling them.

Regards,

/Mike B.
