Hi all,

recently bought a car and found that insurance is verryy expensive.

the cheapest i have found is on "budget" via confused.com ....

Using my dads no claims bonus and protecting it would cost £1140.

Any know of anything better? Can use my dads 6 years no claims but it needs to be protected

cheers

Depends on the car that your driving, pref the size of the engine, where the car is stored i.e if on the front drive more than in the garage and also have you done any other advanced driving courses? They tend to bring the insurance down also.

If you have an alarm grade 3 or above you get cheaper insurance. Something like that.

£1000 is the cheapest you will get in my opinion, how old are you 17/18? that is reasonable i have known people your age to pay a hell of alot more than that.

not sure if youve tried a quote using this - get your dad to insure the car in his name as the main driver then you go onto his insurance as a named driver for the car. sometimes that can be cheaper for under 25 .
failing that shop around for a company that specialises in younger drivers or first time drivers i googled it and found some links you could try-
