All SE phones have experienced serious bugs..K700,K750,W800,W810,K600,W900..mostly resolved through sequences of tiring updates on and on..are bugs only found in high-end phones with their multi tasking capabilities? Have you ever heard of bugs in J100,J230 or Z300? Or we don't discuss these? Which one has the least bugs and why?
Why doesn't SE make a bug-free phone? Is it too hard really?

no bugs on my w800 apart frm smetime hanging(jst once or twice in a month) while playing heavy games.
bought it in august no visit to the service centre till date.currently about 470mb loaded on the phone but performance still top notch.
A very happy user!
why? because its internal memory is large! My advice: keep your internal memory as free as possible

It's not just SE phones. As customers expect, and get, more functionality we get bugs. It is only to be expected as the software code becomes very complicated. Just look at the history of computers: In the good old DOS days you'd hardly had any problems with your O.S. or apps. They just worked, but they were rather simple, were limited in functionality, were not that user friendly and could hardly be customised. Then along comes Windows 3.1, win95, 98, NT, XP and a raft of new "improved" and "secure" apps. With all this added functionality came larger software ware code and more bugs. Most notably the application error and BSOD became something every human on this planet has now come to accept as normal behaviour from a Microsoft product. Yet we keep buying their products and expecting even more functions. Phones are just the same. My old Nokia 3315 was rock solid reliable. My wife’s old Nokia 7250i is as well. But these phones do not offer that much. I had the misfortune of owning an LG 7100 for about 6 months. Whilst it seemed to offer a little more functionality it really was a load of junk – it was away for repair for half the time I had it. The number of times it froze or turned off was ridiculous. LG actually told me it was normal operational behaviour after the replacement they gave me continued to play up. Luckily my provider (Optus) understood that this was not acceptable and allowed me to replace the phone with an SE K508i. I have to say the K508i was pretty stable - although it did freeze once or twice in the few months I had it - unfortunately I dropped it in the toilet and it stopped working. My son's K300 never failed him - until it sustained a rather strong impact to the screen – CRACK! Now I have my w800 and I am very impressed with it. When I think of all the things it can do and just how much you can customise it I am astounded. I can't imagine how much work must be involved in getting all that to fit together - and I have done some programming in past. Sure, there have been some past issues - the odd freeze and that bloody MS Duo issue and parameter incorrect error. But, since the R1BC F/W it really has been a rock solid reliable phone. I think SE should be praised for continually upgrading/fixing firmware’s and making it so easy for people to update their phone over the internet. I have played around with Nokia's, LG’s, Motorola's (don't get me started about Motorola’s) and Sagem's and I have to say the SE impress me the most for both their functionality and reliability. Sorry for the long reply.

I'd say the K750i is one of the best (bug free). Had one for about a year and have not had any crashes etc... Thats with about 100ish hours of calls and millions of pics. I 'don't really use the MP3 player though.

I pulled a dead fly out of a T610 once if thats any help to you........

i like the idea of fly out of t610... ha ha

when i bought my k750, the bug it had was a black matter thing. when i scroll menus instead of a highlight, it was in black and when it does the unit was like a drunk or unpredictable. i was late for work 3 times because of an alarm ignored with the black matter stupid bug.

anyway an upgrade made it disappeared.

i never had a bug free unit with all the brand of units i owned. from sonyericsson, nokia to samsung.

I have to agree with mongoose3800.

Through a series of firmware updates over the past several months, the W800i has become a very stable phone.

Kudos to for making the firmware update via their SEUS service. This makes purchasing a phone even that much more of a no brainer. Just try getting that kind of service from Nokia.
