The HBH-662 is listed as discontinued on the expansys web site, although it's still listed in the product list for certain countries (Belgium) on the web site.

In the US e-shop, only the HBH-660 is available. What gives? And why would they terminate the 662, when it's never been replaced by an upgraded version? Was the 662 only ever available in certain markets?

I love this headset. I'm currently using an earpiece from an HBH-600 on it though because the original earhook is giving out, and I'm beginning to have my doubts about the battery too. So I want a new one! , how could you do this?

On a more practical note, can anyone tell me with any certainty what I'd be giving up by buying an HBH-660 instead of the 662? And do you think the 660s still in stock have been sitting in boxes for 18 months?

do a search on google and you will find many shops that have some in stock, i got one a few days ago here in greece but if you delay it you may not be able to find them, because they are discontinued. the hbh-660 is basically the same headset exept for the color and the call timer, and the bluetooth 1.1 compatibility. even if you get an hbh-660 intead of an hbh-662 there are not any remarkable differences, and if it has been sitting in a box for 18 months there is still no problem nothing happens to it as long as it hasen't been used.

Thanks, Mathios. I haven't seen many online, but if I do I may just snap it up, because they don't last forever and I suspect mine is giving it up.
