I insert my frends pendrive in my pc, next thing the com detected a Trojan Virus by Norton Anti-Virus software... and a multiple window from Norton came poping up telling me a virus has been detected.. like 50 of them.. But my norton software is not registered coz it came with the pc..

Pls anyone knows a quick free anti-trojan/virus software that can solve this problem? I tried a free AVG software.. it didnt detect any... I tried Spyware Doctor it detected 180 infected files... but the only problem with this one is.. i have to buy the software to fix this problem.

It sucks knowing you have 180 infected files... ur help will be great! Thx!

Trend housecall:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

This is a free online virus / spyware scanner and remover. Not brilliant, but it's worth a go. Bear in mind that you should fully disable Norton before running this.

Adaware:

http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/

One of the best totaly free, fully functional adware and spyware removers there is!

Spybot Search and destroy:

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

The one you run after adaware to pick up the bits and bobs that adaware missed!

sitebars you can remove under add/remove programs under control panel.. look also after Save Now, that is junk too..

Adaware and / or spybot s+d should get rid of yoursitebar. If it doesn't, you might be able to take it out manually using hijack this.

Just a word of caution, be very wary about using add/remove programs to uninstall malware. it's fine for things like Gator but alot of malware actually reinstalls itself when you try to remove it this way.

Ewido is excellent, one of the better payware antimalware apps.
