Another question about charging:
If you start to charge while phone is on, a message "Ericsson smart charging" appears and if it is off, "charging only" appears?

What`s the difference, is it better to charge your phone when it is off or on???

To B@RTje,

Do you mean after a long time of charging (the same chargings process) or after many chargings when the phone is turned on?

I have the same question.
I don't understand the difference and don't find anything about that in the manual.

When my t68 is on and I am charging, the battery power icon charge exactly where the icon was.
But when the t68 is off, the icon start charging at the middle (depend of the state af the battery).

So it seems that my battery cherge better when my phone is ON.

Is there someone who exactly know the difference ?
Thanks.

I've also noticed that if you charge your battery with the phone off (over night for example). When you turn your phone on the next morning it continues to charge for about 10-15 minutes...

Has anyone else noticed this?

It seems that if you charge with phone off it can`t fill up the battery because when you turn it on it doesn`t show full battery indicator, it`s already drained a bit.

I suppose that this "smart charging" is better, battery last longer...

Anyone who can support that???

I suppose that the battery has some electronics which monitors charging but the phone itself seems to have some software which does fine tuning of battery (like formating on lap top batteries)...

T68 has a Lithium Polymeric battery. So the battery is divided into many parts. When charging with the phone switched of the phone charges faster . With the phone switched on it has to charge differently.Smart charging + Polymeric battery means that tou can charge it with the phone swithed on. That's why old cellphones are not allowed to be charged when switched on..you loose capacity.... Finally with smart charging when you recieve a call the charging stops at the background.
That is what I know.It is not 100% accurate

oke i'm only saying that the t68 has a colour
display and that the display lose his colours after a wile... (see esato forum, elswhere) so when you charch the phone wile it's on the display doesnn't switch to screensaver, so the phone is for about 2 hours whitout the screensaver, and it has to display the background in colours and after a wile the colours are getting less.... so it is better to charch the phone when it's of.
