"T-Mobile launched the T509 at a party in New York with DJs, drinks and the beautiful people who are typically invited to attend these sorts of things. The hip, well dressed attendees were literally clamoring for this phone. A few even offered to buy our review unit from us at well above retail.
The typical phone freak or industry insider might hear this and think "oh, another one of those phones. Looks good but that's about it, just like the people at that party." But the T509 will pleasantly surprise you. For most users, who rarely need features beyond calling, texting, occasional browsing and now Bluetooth, the T509 is a solid performer. It has a good screen, 3 day battery life, excellent reception, and it's very easy to use. Plus, it does look good, and that's certainly a nice bonus for such a solid performer as this phone.
We didn't sell our review unit that night so that we could bring you a video review of the T509."
