> Building a super quiet PC
Bookmark topic
Hi all,
Im looking to build (or buy) a new pc which makes little or low noise and is as small, as as stylish as possible.
Any ideas of the parts needed? Would ideally like to use the parts running in my current pc.
cheers

Just get yourself a
Mac mini. They're tiny, so quiet you can rarely hear them at all, and you can run both Mac OS X and Windows on the Intel ones.

basically if you want a quite case you gotta be willing to spend teh money

id say most over around £60 will be fairly quite... if you go for over £100 then youre laughing......
mate if youre buying/buildin a new pc, i thought id show you this i just found
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/110725/rb/19670506070
a good case for both looks and looking after your pc is:
http://www.ebuyer.com/custome[....]3Jldmlld3M=&product_uid=101935 but it is pricy... my friend bought teh £45 alternative, which was also nice

Surely its the mechanical bits inside the case (such as the fans, drives etc.) that make a PC noisy, not the case itself?
If the PC runs cool, then the fans don't need to come on as often and make so much noise. Also I've seen some more expensive but apparently virtually silent fans. The cheap ones are generally noisier.

yes and no.... you are right to an extent, but if you have a poorly built case then thngs will rattle etc....... teh better ones control where teh air flows etc... making a quiter pc..... But gools is right, you gotta spend taht lil extra on fans too.... although i think the sace i shown again has good fans inside

also your psu can make a lot of difference..... as i first said, if you want it quite - you gotta spend the money
