Hi
Is there any *free* way of changing the CDA, I know that it can be done via davinciteam - but I dont have any credits with them at the moment. I suppose if all else fails - i will just have to use them...
I will be returning my handset for an exchange with vodafone.
What I want to know is, by changing the CDA, can I plug the phone into SEUS and get it to change the sony unbranded firmware into the original vodafone firmware?
I've used Total Multi Server, but it never works, - always says my battery is dead when it isnt. They are the only ones with vodafone firmware.
Also, is there an free alternative to finalising the firmware?
Almost forgot - its a W900i on generic R5BC005 firmware
(i just want if flashed back to vodafone branded firmware)
Thanks

Oops! Ignore the following. There is no support for the W900 with the FAR plugin. Sorry about that. There are no official free ways to do what you want with a W900 - you will have to use a third party solution.
----------
Perhaps the best solution is to use the FAR plugin - it is free, fairly easy to use and allows you to use the DCU-60 cable that came with your phone.
You will have to download and install the FAR application (which is like an old DOS file manager) then copy the plugin files to the plugin directory. After this you can open the contents of your phone's file system in one of the windows and edit the contents of the text files in FAR.
If you edit the Customize.xml file you will see the first few lines are something like:
22760
RA3
CDA102338/36
R5A
SEMC phone
Just change the CDA information here to what you want, save the file back to the phone and then perform a master reset. Don't forget to back up the contents of your phone first with Mobile Explorer!

THank you for your replies.
They have been most helpful.
I got a bit panicky yesterday - and found that I could REBRAND the phone back to vodafone original firmware just by using davinciteam and choosing the VFE firmware.
Just wish their forums were replied to a lot quicker.
Anyway, thanks for your replies - I now have an up to date W900 on vodacrap.
