Handspring currently has the Sprint PCS Wireless Web Digital Link Springboard available for free -- you pay only $8.50 shipping and handling, no other purchases necessary. This Springboard module (essentially an improved, CDMA version of the VisorPhone) turns your Visor into a cellular phone, and adds wireless modem capabilities as well.
Nevertheless, it’s certainly an inexpensive way to enter the world of wireless. If you currently have a Sprint PCS phone, you can transfer your existing account to the Wireless Web Digital Link. There’s a $34.95 activation fee for new accounts, in addition to your service plan.
