Bookmark topic
Have many of you guys have done the ROM update on your K-JAM?
What changes have you seen after doing an update?
How much time does it take to do an update?
I was thinking of doing an update.
Just wanted some info from you guys...

I've done every ROM update on the JAM and k-JAM.
they take around 20 minutes and i-mate list the changes for each version on the i-mate page where you download the update
be aware that the device is fully wiped so you need to reinstall your applications and resync your data after the update is complete

@masseur I reckon that the preinstalled applications don't need to be reinstalled...
do they?
is there any change in speed of K-JAM after the ROM update?

preinstalled applications are generally in the ROM and so don't need to be reinstalled because they will be part of the update
there is a noticeable difference in performance if you upgrade to the latest AKU2 upgrade (have you not read any of my many posts where I make this comment?

)

if you have registered your k-jam why don't you just go to the i-mate support site and check it out
the thread I created for the latest firmware is "
AKU2 available from i-mate but no A2DP!" which also includes a link to the update page and everything else you need to know

hey wait, I found that...
I have the latest ROM version preinstalled on my K-JAM.
its
Rom version: 2.16.9.1
Rom date: 2/6/06
Radio version: 02.07.10
Protocol version: 413.1.03
ExtROM version: 2.16.9.101
so NO NEED to do a ROM update.
